Matthew Albanese builds scenes in miniature and photographs them flawlessly to create a image that holds the viewer suspended in mystery. Using every day materials like string or jelly beans, Albanese makes photorealistic sculptures. He is inspiring to us at Visual Knead Studio because he is so open with his construction process. Waves and Long Boards. Illustrations by Adrian Jan Huysman
I am always inspired by the creativity that is invested into longboard Visual Culture. It is a powerful mix of many different styles of mark making. The summer of 2012 was my first spent away from the west coast in more than 10 years so I spent July drawing and painting Sea-Scapes and Rouge Wave studies for the coming year of work with Longboard Market. They have added me to their list of artists and are going to be offering longboards with original art work by yours truly and a few other very talented artists.
